Welcome to the Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination. This year our festival is filled with great delights - wonderful performances, free events, and lots of fun - as well as workshops, master classes and informative demonstrations.
It is a special year for us, one in which we have focused on the Star Wars mission not only to bring nationally and internationally renowned artists into our midst, but to give back to the community through free events and community partnerships designed to showcase local artists.
The Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination is set to enrapture festival lovers once again. Our venue will leave you fascinated, captivated and enthralled. With performances ranging from classic to contemporary, traditional to avant-garde, each act will inspire you to greater heights.
Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination This touring exhibition brings a variety of costumes and props from all six Star Wars films together to demonstrate how many of the film's flights of fancy are, in fact, rooted in science fact. This stop on the tour, at the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry in Portland, is a must-see for all Star Wars fans. The exhibition gives visitors the chance to get close-up to Luke's original landspeeder from Episode IV, scale models of X-Wing, Y-Wing and Imperial TIE fighters, an original Yoda puppet and Darth Vader's actual helmet from Episode III.
The science part of the exhibition aims to link the film with real life through a variety of hands-on learning experiences. Visitors can climb aboard a hovercraft to see how a floating vehicle handles, watch C3-PO discuss real-life robot technologies. …...more!
